Hello September, you’ve crept up!
Why is it the day after August finishes, it feels like summer has gone, and autumn is already here?!
Working from home and juggling the school holidays (one 14-year-old and one 11-year-old) has been challenging at times, and I was caught off guard by having many flashbacks to the lockdowns.
However, August was a time to, as one of my clients put it, “feed the soul” and have a proper break, time to reflect; I feel I did have a few windows of opportunity to do this.
Although, having a staycation here in the UK, I felt there was an air of desperation in soaking up the sunshine at every opportunity– because we never know when it will be back. Always conscious that “we need more vitamin D.” All rather exhausting!
I have for many years now seen September as my New Year, new January.
Albeit nine months into the “official” calendar year, it’s when my new planner begins.
I’m still sluggish in January and feel I have more energy to channel after the summer.
Crucially, it’s time for the kids to return to the classroom! (please, please let there be no more homeschooling!) and it is the time for me to get back into work, take charge, get inspired, and tackle all those goals I’ve not quite got around to completing yet this year.
It’s the time to be creative professionally and personally.
September is another opportunity to remind ourselves of our purpose. Here at Bear Content, we all agree we want to create compelling content for our clients and be content while doing it!
So today, as I open my brand new notepad (new stationery brings me so much joy!), in my neatest handwriting, I write, Wednesday, September 1st and underline it (I might even go crazy and highlight it); I do feel optimistic.
I am so excited to see what guests will be coming up on the podcasts we produce. I feel like each and everyone one of them inspires me in some way each week.
I learn so much from listening. Whether listening to a podcast or a conversation between friends, family, and colleagues, you can reap the rewards if you actively listen.
Be inspired by others and what they can teach you.
Martin is excited as September brings new light and autumn colours for his photography around the Surrey Hills.
James is thrilled to be back at the cinema and has a long list of the upcoming films he will tick off over the coming months. Each of these will inspire him to be more creative at work too.
Despite the last year’s challenges, we have shown ourselves to be creative, resourceful, and resilient. We know what we know, both individually and as a team.
We are small giants and are incredibly excited and optimistic for the future.
